From a messy ZIP to this — every video and photo organized by year and by the people in them.
Download every video with Instagram's tool
Instagram lets you request a complete copy of every video and Reel you've posted. It's the official, free way to get them all at once — you just have to wait while Instagram packages it, and what lands is a ZIP file full of folders, with your videos as MP4 files.
- Open Settings and activity. In the Instagram app, tap your profile picture, then the menu (☰) in the top-right corner.
- Go to Accounts Center. Tap Accounts Center near the top of the Settings screen.
- Open Your information and permissions. Tap Your information and permissions, then Download your information, and start a request.
- Select your account and Photos and videos. Choose the account, pick Some of your information, and select Photos and videos — this category includes your video posts and Reels.
- Set quality to High and request. Choose a date range of All time, set Media quality to High, and submit. Instagram defaults to a compressed setting that makes your videos look worse than they are.
- Download and unzip. Instagram emails a link when it's ready — usually a few hours, up to a few days for large accounts. Download the ZIP (the link expires after a few days) and unzip it. Large archives arrive as several ZIP files — grab all of them.
The steps are the same on desktop: go to accountscenter.instagram.com, then Your information and permissions → Download your information. For the detailed version with screenshots, see how to request your archive step by step.
Just need one Reel? Instagram doesn't always offer a one-tap "save to camera roll" for your own Reels — the full archive above is the dependable way to get the original MP4 of a video you posted, which is exactly what it's for.
Turn that ZIP into a gallery you'll actually enjoy
The export gets your videos out — but it leaves them in a mess. They land in nested folders with cryptic names, the original dates are often stripped, and your video posts sit apart from your photos. After all that waiting, you're left with a ZIP you can't really browse.
That's what everkept fixes. Upload the ZIP and you get one private gallery — every video and photo together, organized by year and grouped by the people in them, with the dates restored. A clip isn't buried in a folder; it sits right next to the moment it belongs to. Only you can access it, your uploaded files are deleted from our servers after 30 days unless you keep your gallery, and it's never sold, shared, or used to train anything. Free to see what we found; one-time price to keep it, no subscription.
Common questions
How do I save my own Instagram Reels to my phone?
Instagram doesn't always offer a one-tap "save to camera roll" for Reels you posted. The reliable way to get the original video files is the full Download your information archive — it includes your Reels and other video posts as MP4 files.
How long does Instagram take to prepare your video download?
It varies by account size. A small account is usually ready within a few hours; accounts with years of videos can take one to three days. Instagram emails you when it's ready, and the download link expires after a few days.
Why are my downloaded Instagram videos lower quality?
Instagram compresses videos when you upload them, so the downloaded version reflects that compression rather than your original recording. Select "High" media quality when you request your archive to get the best version Instagram has stored. Your phone's own copy of the original, if you still have it, will always be highest quality.
Will downloading my Instagram videos delete them from Instagram?
No. Downloading creates a copy on your device. Your original Reels and video posts stay on Instagram exactly as they were — nothing is deleted or changed on your profile.
Can I keep my videos and photos together in one place?
Yes. Once you have your ZIP, everkept turns it into one private gallery — every video and photo together, organized by year and by the people in them, with dates restored. Free to see what we found; one-time price to keep it, no subscription.
